(DALLAS, Texas, June 21, 2006)—D Magazine was nominated for an Excellence Online award by the City and Regional Magazine Association for their 21st National City and Regional Magazine Awards. At the awards dinner reception in Boston, MA on Monday, June 19, 2006, D Magazine won the gold for Excellence Online for its trend-setting web site. This is the second year this award was presented by the City and Regional Magazine Association and the second year D Magazine took home the gold.

This year, 73 magazines competed with 850 entries. Judges from 43 publications, including O, the Oprah Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Esquire and students from the Missouri School of Journalism selected the finalists. For the last ten years, the 21-year-old contest has been coordinated by the Missouri School of Journalism.

D Magazine celebrated its 30th anniversary in October of 2004. D Magazine has been awarded the gold medal for General Excellence two times in the past six years by the City and Regional Magazine Association. D Magazine won the gold medal for Excellence Online at the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 National City and Regional Magazine Awards.
